Strategic Communications for Transformational Change

When fourteen local, regional, and national foundations joined together to transform the Central Corridor, they needed more than communications. They needed a shared strategy to unite partners, engage communities, and tell a compelling story.

The Challenge

The Central Corridor Funders Collaborative was created to support equitable community development along the new Green Line light rail corridor. Bringing together fourteen foundations, public agencies, businesses, and community organizations required a unified brand, clear communications strategy, and thoughtful stakeholder engagement to build trust and sustain collaboration over nearly a decade.

The Strategic Partnership

From the Collaborative's inception through its planned sunset, I served as lead communications strategist and advisor. Together, we developed the Collaborative's name, brand, communications strategy, messaging framework, and community engagement approach. Beyond communications, the strategy helped shape how the Collaborative worked with partners and communities, supporting websites, public engagement, events, reports, videos, media relations, and national knowledge sharing. The initiative became a recognized model for collaborative, place-based philanthropy.
